The rules
How a motor is matched
Only limits the PPA LATAM store publishes are used. A missing figure never rules a kit out; it is marked to confirm.
- Weight. The gate's weight (per leaf for PIVO CONDOMINIO) must be within the kit's limit. Under 80 % is a good margin; up to 100 % is near the limit.
- Size. Leaf length, door height (through the rail) or boom length must be within what the store lists.
- Use. Openings in the busiest hour must not pass the published cycles per hour. Kits published as continuous suit any use.
- Power. 220 V-only equipment needs 220 V at the gate.

The weight guide
When you do not know the weight: width × height × a typical weight per square metre. It is a rough guide, not a measurement.
| Material | Per m² | A 4 m × 2 m gate |
|---|---|---|
| Steel sheet (lámina) | 25 kg/m² | 200 kg |
| Steel tube grille (reja tubular) | 18 kg/m² | 145 kg |
| Solid bar grille (reja maciza) | 30 kg/m² | 240 kg |
| Aluminium | 10 kg/m² | 80 kg |
| Wood | 22 kg/m² | 175 kg |
Openings in the busiest hour
| Use | Openings |
|---|---|
| One home | up to 10 openings in the busiest hour |
| Small building | up to 20 openings an hour |
| Condominium | up to 40 openings an hour |
| Business or car park | up to 60 openings an hour |
| Non-stop | more than 60 an hour |
A home with no published figure is fine; for heavier use a kit without a published figure is marked to confirm.
80 %
The line between a good margin and a kit near its limit.
Plan it before the visit
Describe the gate, see the PPA kits whose published limits cover it, add the extras and send the plan to PPA HOME on WhatsApp or by email.
